As of June, the Magic Garden, the free and interactive children's play area, is also open.

The Ice Queen Party
The hit during the winter season! All children craft their own hats: As Olaf, Sven, Anna or Elsa! Then, there are lots of fun activities from snowball throwing to the winter dance. And all sing along ...“Let’s go!”
But for all Donau Zentrum Premium Card holders, the price is reduced to €3 for every child and hour commenced. (you can register for the Premium Card directly in the Magic Attic or here.)
Each child can stay for up to 3 hours.
For hygienic reasons, it is obligatory to wear non-slip socks in the Magic Attic. Please provide your children with their own socks. You must bring your children’s E-Card when registering in for the first time. Children can be checked in only in the company of adult caregivers or parents.
When visiting the MAGIC ATTIC for the first time, all your children’s details are recorded on the computer system, including your mobile telephone number. To avoid waiting times when checking in for the first time, you can already download and fill in the registration form and bring it to the check-in counter in the children's area.

ARE ADULTS ALLOWED IN THE MAGIC ATTIC CHILDREN’S AREA WITH THEIR CHILDREN?
You are allowed to do so up to the check-in area. Only children between 3 and 11 years of age are admitted from the magic box.
The children's area is a childcare facility, to allow adult caregivers or parents to have a rest. Adult caregivers or parents can check their children into the MAGIC ATTIC and then conveniently go shopping for between one hour and a maximum of three hours.
An optimal overview of what is on offer in the children’s area can be foundHERE. We’ll gladly give you a guided tour of the children's area on weekday mornings, but only when visitor numbers are low.
ARE PARENTS ALLOWEDTO COME TO THE BIRTHDAY PARTIES?
If the party has been reserved, 2 accompanying adults may be present at the birthday party.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD OR NIBBLES TO THE PARTY?
We supply all the children with drinks, cake and children’s sparkling wine during the party. You’re not allowed to bring your own food.
MY CHILD HAS A FOOD INTOLERANCE – DO I HAVE TO MAKE THAT KNOWN?
For security reasons, the check-in form contains questions regarding food intolerances and allergies that your children might have. Although – apart from water at the drinking station – nothing is dispensed in the children's area. In that respect, however, it does cover the variety of cake when booking birthday parties.
MY CHILD IS ILL – MAY HE/SHE COME TO THE CHILDREN’S AREAANYWAY?
You’re not allowed to check a child in if it he/she is suffering from a contagious illness or disease.
WHICH NUMBER DO I HAVE TO DIAL IF I WANT TO CALL THE CHILDREN’S AREA?

IS THERE A CHANGING TABLE IN THE CHILDREN’S AREA?
Yes – we’ve set up a changing table for smaller brothers and sisters in the wheelchair accessible toilet. Please ask the on-site supervisors at the reception.
IS THERE A PLACE TO STORE PUSHCHAIRS?
In front of check-in, there is an area where pushchairs can be parked for a short time.
ARE BROTHERS AND SISTERS ALLOWED – EVEN IF THEY ARE UNDER THREE YEARS OLD?
No – children under three years of age are not allowed in the MAGIC ATTIC children’s area due to official regulations.
WHY DO I HAVE TO BRING SOCKS TO THE CHILDREN’S AREA?
At the entrance to the children’s area, there is a locker system for the locking of jackets, shoes, bags and skateboards, etc. From the check-in area, you are allowed to walk around the children’s area in socks only.
WHAT IF I WOULD LIKE TO COLLECT MY CHILD EARLIER?
So that we can reach you at any time and inform you if your child would like to be collected, we keep a record of the telephone number of the adult caregivers or parents at check-in.
WHY DO I HAVE TO BRING THE E-CARD TO CHECK IN FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Due to official regulations, only children between 3 and 11 years are allowed in the children's area. The E-card is used only for making sure that the children are in the mentioned age group. Of course, there are also other ways to prove the child’s age.
WHY ARE CHILDREN UNDER THREE AND OVER 11 NOT ALLOWED IN THE CHILDREN’S AREA?
Children aged 3 years and over are allowed in the children's area. Most are at a stage in their development in which they usually don’t mind staying on their own in a new and unusual care facility. From the age of 12, children are too big for many of the toys in the children's area.
ARE THE CHILDREN IN THE CHILDREN'S AREA LEFT TO THEIR OWN DEVICES, OR LOOKED AFTER ON SITE?
Depending on the number of children expected, between 2 and 7 supervisors are employed in the children's area.
HOW LONG CAN MY CHILD STAY IN THE CHILDREN’S AREA?
Children can stay for between one and three hours. Please collect your children on time, about 15 minutes before the next full hour, because the next hour must start exactly from then.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO LEAVE CHILDREN IN THE MAGIC ATTIC?
€4 for every child and hour commenced. For all Donau Zentrum Premium Card holders, the price is reduced to €3 for every child and hour commenced. (you can register for the Premium Card HERE or directly in the Magic Attic.) Each child can stay for up to 3 hours.
CAN I PAY BY BANKOMAT CARD IN THE CHILDREN’S AREA?
No – there is no Bankomat cash machine installed in the children’s area. The next cash machine is located on the floor of the entrance to the children’s area towards Saturn at the entrance to the garages, baby-care rooms and toilets.
DOES THE CHILDREN’S AREA PROVIDE MY CHILD WITH DRINKS?
Yes – a drinking station has been set up in the MAGIC ATTIC. There, the children are well supplied with fresh drinking water.
MY CHILD DOESN’T SPEAK MUCH GERMAN.ARE THERE SUPERVISORS WITH KNOWLEDGE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES?
Your child needs be able to speak and understand German or English, otherwise we unfortunately won’t be able to look after your child.
WHAT TRAINING DO THE SUPERVISORS IN THE CHILDREN’S AREA HAVE?
The director of MAGIC ATTIC of the children’s area is Christoph Rumersdorfer – a trained educator. All other supervisors are pedagogically trained. However, our facilities are equivalent to temporary child day care facilities and not to educational institutions.
IS ROBERT STEINER ALSO PRESENT IN THE CHILDREN’S AREA?
Robert Steiner is the operator of the children’s area and is occasionally at the MAGIC ATTIC. We apologise however, if he is not always available to meet and speak with you.
WHAT ARE THE OPENING HOURS OF THE MAGIC ATTIC?
The children’s area is open from Monday to Saturday from 10am – 6pm. Closed Sundays and on public holidays (the exception being December 8).
Let our new Magic Garden enchant your young ones! As of June, the Magic Garden is open in the Donau Zentrum on level 0, between Müller and Peek & Cloppenburg. Here, from now on, children can let off steam on two levels. The heart of the “Magic Garden” is a 13-metre high climbing tree with two slides, which wind around the tree.

FAQS – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I leave my child in the Magic Garden to play, while I go shopping?
No, the Magic Garden is not supervised and the parents must supervise their own children.
If you wish to go shopping in peace and quiet, you can leave your children in the safe hands of the supervised children's area called the “Magic Attic”.
How much does it cost to visit the Magic Garden?
All visitors to the Donau Zentrum can use the Magic Garden for free.
Can adults accompany their children while their children are on the climbing tree?
Yes – the Magic Garden is designed for adults to play together with their children.
Is there an age limit for using the climbing tree?
The minimum age for the climbing tree is 5 years, and accompanying adults must – if physically able – accompany their children in the climbing tree. Please be advised that the structural features have been designed for children, and therefore are correspondingly narrow.

For the clever and smart ones, there are now also workshops in the Magic Garden! There are free workshops every 2nd Thursday in the Donau Zentrum indoor playground (between P&C and Müller).

The restaurants (with service) in the Donau Zentrum and Donau Plex provide our youngest guests with a table set for colouring in, so that fun and games are also guaranteed during dinner. Here, you will find the template to download, so that your children can also colour in our KaDZi and a Magic Garden when they are back at home.
